Although the ‘Chunnari Chunnari’ remake of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ continues to divide opinion online, one voice from the original team is standing strong in the corner.
Veteran music composer Anu Malik, who composed the hit song for the 1999 film ‘Biwi No. 1’, wholeheartedly supported the remake, calling the song timeless and complimenting Varun Dhawan’s performance in the recreated version.

Anu Malik took to Instagram and shared a video expressing his excitement for the remake and his admiration for both the original and the remake. He said, “Chunnari Chunnari, ‘Chunnari Chunnari’. Guys, it’s been a long time since I saw the song on superstar Varun Dhawan’s face. Earlier too, this song became a hit when it came on Salman Khan. And Salman Khan took it to a different level.”Reflecting on the song’s enduring appeal, he added: “Pehle bhi gaana super hit tha, aaj bhi super hit aur kal bhi super hit rahega (The song was very successful earlier, is still very successful today, and will remain very successful tomorrow as well).”

Anu Malik was equally generous in his praise of Varun Dhawan’s dancing in the recreated track. He said, “What a dance, those girls look so beautiful… Varun, tu kya nasha hai yaar.
Kya lag raha hai gaana (Varun, you danced well man. The song sounds amazing). “Congratulations.”

The veteran composer also used the occasion to celebrate his long creative association with director David Dhawan. He added, “David Dhawan’s film ki koi bhi aur anu malik toh dukhta hi dukhta hai. Itna kaam kya hai david ki saath aur kya mukhraj hai.”
