The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more persons, a doctor based in Latur (Maharashtra) and a physics teacher at a coaching center in Pune, in connection with the leak of National Eligibility Test with Undergraduate Entrance Test or NEET-UG 2026 papers, taking the number of people arrested in the case to 13.

The agency identified the two as Manoj Shirori and Tejas Harshadkumar Shah. Doctor Shirori “played a key role in facilitating three students, including the son of the accused coaching center owner, getting chemistry questions from accused P V Kulkarni,” the CBI said.

Shah is teaching physics at Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy in Pune, the RBI said. “It obtained the leaked physics questions for NEET-UG 2026 exam from the arrested accused Manisha Havaldar,” the CBI said in a statement.

The CBI raided 49 locations as part of its investigation into the leak. He is set to file the first charge sheet in the case naming teachers Kulkarni, Manisha Mandhari and Havaldar as the key people behind the leak of chemistry, biology and physics questions, HT reported on Tuesday.

The indictment will not name any official at the National Testing Agency, even though all aspects of the investigation “will remain open,” people familiar with the matter said. “The investigation to uncover the chain as well as the conspiracy in this case is ongoing,” the agency said on Wednesday.

The CBI said the investigation is ongoing, and its teams are working side by side to determine the actual source of the leak before testing.
