She said that the teams have been instructed to take immediate action in case the prescribed guidelines are violated.

Mishra said the government would ensure strict compliance with animal welfare laws during the festival scheduled on May 28.

He added, “The notice clearly states that no illegal sacrifice of any kind will be permitted during Bakrid Eid. The buying and selling of animals in public places is completely prohibited.”

According to the warning, the sacrifice can only be performed in authorized locations, and not on roads, paths or other public places.

The minister also said that sacrificing cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals is strictly prohibited in the city and appealed to residents to cooperate with the authorities in enforcing the rules.

According to the statement, the teams sensitized livestock owners, traders and transporters on guidelines related to animal transport, care and management.

The advisory stipulates that no cruelty should be practiced on animals during transportation and that meat should not be sold in unlicensed places.

It was also directed not to dispose of blood and animal remains in drains or public sewage networks.

The general public has been advised to contact the nearest police or PCR station in case of any violation or report a complaint, the statement said.
