The 2026 American Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The show, hosted by Queen Latifah, began with a pre-recorded performance from BTS at the K-pop group’s concert the night before. Latifa then took the stage with a short monologue, where she shouted out this year’s nominees.
The first awards were presented by Nikki Glaser (Best Rock/Alternative Song for Sombre) and Paula Abdul with Jason Derulo (Song of the Year for Hantrix EJAE, Audrey Nona, and Ry Ami for “Golden” from Demon hunters in kpop).
Hootie and the Blowfish also performed a medley of their 90s hits “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” Shortly after winning the AMA, Sombr took the stage for an intense performance filled with bright lights that ended with him getting caught in a rainstorm.
The Pussycat Dolls returned to the AMAs stage to perform a medley of hits including “Dont Cha,” “Buttons,” and “When I Grow Up,” with Nicole Scherzinger and her bandmates joining Busta Rhymes.
Karol G has performed and received the International Artist of Excellence Award from John Legend.
The Black Eyed Peas won Best Throwback Song for ‘Rock That Body’, with will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo joining former member Fergie who got emotional as she thanked fans, talked about how happy she was to accept the award alongside her friends and gave a loud shout out to her son Axel.

Heading into Monday night’s show, Taylor Swift leads with eight nominations, followed by seven-time nominees Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Deen and Sombre. Winners are determined entirely by fan voting.
The 2026 AMAs are broadcast live coast to coast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
