Has Paresh Rawal quit Hera Pheri 3 again? This is the truth behind the viral reports

Widespread reports claiming that Paresh Rawal has quit ‘Hera Pheri 3’ are actually year old news from 2025 and have resurfaced online. The dispute between Paresh and Akshay Kumar over Rs 25 crore was resolved last year, with Paresh returning to the series. Baburao is still very much on board.

‘Hera Pheri 3’ fans had a worrying weekend after reports started doing the rounds claiming that Paresh Rawal has once again pulled out of the popular comedy franchise. But the reports were not new and were actually based on old information from 2025 that resurfaced online. Several outlets have republished old stories claiming that Paresh Rawal returned his signing amount plus 15 percent annual interest and additional compensation for leaving the project.

Reports quickly spread on social media, leaving fans worried about the future of beloved character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte.

Paresh Rawal reports and “Hera Pheri 3” dates back to 2025

Interestingly, Bollywood Hungama clarified that the news that went viral was actually a year-old report that resurfaced. In 2025, they reported that Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, had filed a lawsuit against Paresh Rawal and demanded Rs 25 crore after he allegedly quit the film. It was later reported that Paresh settled the matter by returning his signature amount of Rs 11 lakh along with 15 per cent annual interest and some additional compensation.

Paresh Rawal will get Rs 15 crore for Hera Pheri 3

Earlier reports had also highlighted the financial details of the deal, revealing that Paresh was set to receive a total fee of Rs 15 crore for the film. Of this, he reportedly received Rs 11 lakh as his signing amount, with the remaining Rs 14.89 crore being paid to him after the film’s release. The report also stated that the senior actor has reservations about this condition. Principal photography for the film is also scheduled to begin sometime next year.

This means that “Hera Pheri 3” is unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in 2027. In short, Parrish had to wait almost two years to get the rest of his acting fees.

However, the rift between Paresh and Akshay was said to have been resolved soon after the controversy erupted last year, with the actor eventually returning to the franchise. Another clear sign that the reports doing the rounds are outdated is the timeline referenced in the original article itself.

Still, stories currently being reshared suggest that Parrish will have to wait nearly two years for the remaining installment if the film is released in late 2026 or 2027.

Considering that we have already reached the year 2026, the timeline simply does not fit with reality, which also confirms that the news is not new at all.

Paresh Rawal is still a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3’

Amid all the confusion caused by the recycled reports, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ fans have no reason to worry. According to the Freepress Journal, no new developments have emerged to suggest that Paresh Rawal has once again moved away from the project.

By all accounts, Baburao remains a part of the much-loved franchise, and fans can look forward to seeing the iconic character on screen when the film finally rolls around.
