The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday once again extended the deadline for students seeking scanned copies of assessed answer books for Class 12 board exams, with the last date now revised to May 25 midnight.

CBSE had earlier extended the deadline from May 22 to May 23, then to May 24, and has now extended it to midnight on May 25 amid complaints from students over difficulties in accessing scanned copies of answer books through the portal.
The authority said in the circular: “In continuation of the circular dated 05/22/2026, and to allow sufficient time for students to submit requests for scanned copies of evaluated answer books, the deadline has also been extended.”
The council advised candidates to take advantage of the extended timeline and submit their applications accordingly, explaining that “all other terms and conditions of the facility remain unchanged.”
“We remind that the start date for accepting re-evaluation applications will be announced soon,” the post read.
CBSE had earlier started the process of re-evaluation and verification of answer sheets following concerns raised by some students and parents over the on-screen marking system.
Earlier today, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan spoke to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and sought her ministry’s support to reform the CBSE payment gateway system, officials said.
During the discussion, it was decided that four public sector banks (PSBs) — State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank — will help CBSE in strengthening the payment gateway infrastructure and necessary integration with the post-exam portal, the education ministry said in a statement.
Pradhan also directed to depute teams of professors and technical experts from IIT-Madras and IIT-Kanpur to check all the technical issues reported since the start of this year’s revaluation services and assist CBSE in ensuring an error-free process, the ministry said.
Pradhan has sought a detailed report from CBSE on complaints of technical errors faced by students and parents during the re-evaluation process, a source said on Saturday.
“Taking into account the complaints raised by students and parents regarding technical disturbances during the CBSE re-evaluation process, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought a detailed report on server downtime, glitches in the payment gateway and operational gaps,” the source said.
They added that officials have been directed to explain the causes of technical malfunctions and preparedness measures and hold agencies involved in managing the operation accountable.
