‘Are we rabbits?’: Students worried due to glitch in CBSE answer sheet portal

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come under fresh criticism from Class XII students seeking scanned copies of their answer sheets. This comes after it was highlighted that the process was marred by technical glitches and poor scan quality.

Several students also claimed that they faced issues while trying to log in, complete payments or download documents from the CBSE portal.

The affected students and their parents took to social media to raise concerns about the glitches and errors and criticized the board for the chaos.

A user reported on

“It has been more than 24 hours since my fee was paid, “Status: Payment not verified” so the site remains active.

Another user on X shared a screenshot of the defunct website and flagged it to CBSE by tagging his official X handle.

Another student expressed his ordeal and said that it is disappointing to see CBSE treating students this way. “Do they even realize how much effort goes into board preparation and how important Class 12 grades are to students’ dream colleges and future opportunities?”

While students are facing trouble in accessing the CBSE portal for re-evaluation, CBSE on Wednesday said the online portal for getting scanned copies of Class 12 answer books is “working smoothly”, and students are submitting applications successfully.

In a post on

“The online application portal for scanned copies of Class XII answer books is now working smoothly and applications are being submitted successfully,” the board said.

“As many as 1,27,146 applications for 3,87,399 scanned answer books were successfully submitted till 7.30 pm on May 20, 2019, i.e. within 3 hours of the portal opening,” it added.

The clarification comes amid complaints from students regarding technical glitches on the CBSE website related to post-verification facilities. Many students flagged issues with login, payment and non-functional app links on social media soon after starting the process.
