Senior DMK leader and Tiruchendur MLA Anitha Radhakrishnan on Sunday launched a blistering attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and the ruling TVK-led coalition government, alleging that the administration will not last for more than four to six months.

He also asserted that DMK chief MK Stalin, who served as chief minister before Vijay’s landslide victory in the Assembly elections in April, will soon return to power.

‘Just four months…’: DMK leader on Vijay and TVK
Addressing a party event in south Tamil Nadu, Radhakrishnan challenged Aadhav Arjuna, a senior leader of the ruling Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam Party who won from Velivakkam, to resign from his Assembly seat and contest from Tiruchendur, according to a report by NDTV.
“This government will last for only four months. There is one person called Aadhav Arjuna. If you have guts, resign as MLA, I will do so too. Let us face off in Tiruchendur. This is our city. We will defeat anyone,” the report added.
The DMK leader also came to MK Stalin’s defense after the former chief minister lost his long-time constituency of Kolathur to VS Babu, a former DMK functionary who defected to Vijay’s TVK before the elections.
“We want MK Stalin (our leader) Thalaivar to contest in Trichy. Stalin changed Kolathur as Singapore,” Radhakrishnan said before attacking voters in the constituency as “worthless”.
“We have given a resolution to our Thalapathy to contest from Trichy (East). He has shifted his constituency to Singapore but these disgusting people are traitors!” The DMK leader said, according to a report in India Today.
“Thalaivar is the next prime minister. After four or six months, our leader will become prime minister,” he added.
Neither Stalin nor Vijay have responded to these statements yet.

DMK leader in Vijay’s personal life
Radhakrishnan also personally targeted Vijay while addressing party workers in Tiruchendur, in reference to the Chief Minister’s ongoing divorce proceedings.
“You [Vijay] He said you will protect women, but first respond to your wife and child. When you took oath as Prime Minister, did your wife or child attend?,” he asked, according to an India Today report.
Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Surnalingam, and their two children were noticeably absent from the swearing-in ceremony, while actress Trisha Krishnan – who was widely reported to be in a relationship with the Prime Minister – attended the event, sparking widespread political speculation and commentary.
Sangeetha filed for divorce from Vijay last February after 27 years of marriage, due to infidelity and mental disorder. According to court filings, she said the early years of their marriage were “happy and peaceful” but claimed problems started in 2021 after she learned about Vijay’s alleged extramarital affair with an actress.
