“The Patriot” is a spy thriller about a politically charged surveillance scandal.

The story revolves around Periscope, a spy system used to monitor ordinary citizens. The software is allegedly being distributed by a company controlled by the son of a minister.Senior government official Daniel James takes it upon himself to uncover the truth.ETimes gave the film 3.5 stars out of 5 and highlighted Mohanlal’s leadership performance and the film’s technical strengths. The review read: “Mohanlal, as Rahim Naik – first in name and later in presence – looms large over the film in a very effective way.

The character and background are also strong, and Mahesh shows that he can present Mohanlal as a ‘block’ in any genre. The action sequences are tense, and the confrontations, background music by Suchen Shyam, and smooth dialogues lift the film at crucial moments.

It certainly has several high points. Manush Nandan’s cinematography deserves praise, as it complements the visuals of the film effectively.Disclaimer: Box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
