Tamil actor Muthu Kalai has sought help from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to treat his ailing wife. Muthu Kalai, who has worked in Tamil cinema for many years, is known for appearing in comedy scenes alongside popular stars like Vadivelu and Vivek. Apart from acting, he has also inspired many people by earning three college degrees at the age of 50 and proving that age is never a barrier to education.
The actor is now going through a painful personal situation after his wife Malathi suffered a brain hemorrhage and was taken to the hospital.
Muthu Kalai’s emotional letter to CM Vijay
Speaking emotionally about his wife’s health condition through a video message, Muthu Kalai said he had been struggling alone for the past 17 days. According to Muthu Kalai, his 47-year-old wife, Malathi, underwent surgery after suffering a brain hemorrhage. But due to a severe infection after the operation, she had difficulty breathing and remained unconscious in the hospital.
Doctors reportedly advised advanced treatment for her recovery.
In this difficult situation, Muthu Kalai asked Chief Minister Vijay to help arrange proper medical care for his wife. The emotional appeal has now caught the attention of fans and film industry insiders, with many hoping that Vijay will extend support to his fellow actor.
From cinema he struggles to become a famous comedic face
Muthu Kalai originally came to Chennai from Rajapalayam and dreamed of becoming a stunt artist.
However, the path the actor took in cinema was not easy, and he faced many difficulties in the beginning. He reportedly worked at AVM Studios and took various odd jobs until he started receiving acting roles. Gradually, he became known in Tamil comedy due to his appearances with the likes of Vadivelu and Vivek.
Comedy scenes like the serial ‘Chicken 65’ and many memorable comedy tracks helped him gain recognition and he became a busy supporting actor in Tamil cinema.
