A first-year Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) student studying at an Ayurveda college in Uttarakhand was arrested by Rajasthan Police from Farrukhnagar in Gurugram. He is suspected to be one of the key links that circulated the leaked NEET-UG 2026 question paper, police said on Wednesday.

The suspect from Nashik is a third-year student studying in a college in Bhopal and the question was leaked to him $10 lakh.
The police said that the leaked questions were sent through a Farrukhnagar student to students in Sikar, Rajasthan, along with the solutions.
A senior Gurugram police official said that Farrukhnagar student was earlier living in Rajasthan’s Sikar and studied there in a coaching institute for a long period to prepare for the medical entrance examination.

“He was still in touch with many students and coaching institutes in Sikar and hence may have passed the leaked question paper to them,” he said.
Gurugram Police officials said that a team from the Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police reached Khurrampur on Monday evening and took the suspect for questioning on suspicion of his involvement in leaking the question paper.
Gurugram Police Public Relations Officer Sandeep Turan said that the Rajasthan Police team had not made any official communication regarding the raid in Khurrampur to arrest the suspect.
“The leak did not happen in Gurugram. However, we will definitely take action if any state police seeks our help. However, the Central Bureau of Investigation has already taken up the investigation of the case,” he said.
Meanwhile, another senior Gurugram police official said that an internal investigation has been launched to gather information about the movements of the student hailing from Farrukhnagar.
“We are collecting information whether he is in Gurugram or elsewhere before and on the day of the exam,” he said.
The Rajasthan Police team interrogated the suspect for several minutes at his home in front of his family members about his contacts and financial transactions, officials said. After strong suspicions, they took him to Jaipur immediately via road, officials said.
