Prime Video welcomes you to Barry’s Bay.
The streamer released the first trailer on Tuesday for their series Every year after Series starring Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornette. The series is based on Carly Fortune’s 2002 best-selling novel, Every summer after.
Fortune’s romance is told over the course of six years and highlights his summers spent in the “idyllic lake town” of Barry’s Bay. The story revolves around Percy and Sam, best friends who embark on a complicated love story.
“Every year after “A nostalgic, romantic story about first love and the people and choices that define us forever,” according to Prime Video’s description of the series.
Soverall and Cornette play Percy and Sam respectively.
In the trailer, Soverall’s character Percy returns to Barry’s Bay, where she expects to be reunited with the Florek brothers, Sam and Charlie. Throughout the trailer, her return complicates matters as feelings arise, and it’s possible that the unresolved love story between Sam and Percy will get a second chance – without a few bumps along the way.
“When I’m with her, I don’t think,” Sam admits to Cornette as he fights his feelings for Percy.
“Love can be hard to find, so if you’re lucky enough to find someone, never let them go,” Percy is heard saying in the trailer.
Aurora Perrineau, Abigail Quinn, Michael Bradway, Joseph Chiu and Elisha Cuthbert also star.
Amy B. Harris serves as showrunner and executive producer with Fortune, Lindsay Liberatore, Amy Radin, John Stevens and Grace Gilroy serving as executive producers.
Every year after It represents the streamer’s latest release in the book-to-screen storytelling pipeline. Prime Video will hold “Obsessed Fest,” which serves as Prime Book Club’s first live activation to amplify the voices of the authors, talents and creators at the heart of the streamer’s book-to-screen journeys. The one-day immersive fan event, which will take place on June 27 in Los Angeles at NIA Studios, will feature and celebrate upcoming games including Every year after.
The Amazon Original series will premiere with all eight episodes on June 10.
