Rajasthan NEET UG Probe 2026: NTA details AI monitoring and biometric checks during exam
NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a statement on the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities related to NEET (UG) 2026 following the action initiated by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG).

The agency said that procedures were implemented in all places on the day of the examination.NTA details security arrangements for screeningAccording to the statement, the question papers were transported in vehicles equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) and carrying unique traceable watermark identifiers. The examination halls were monitored through AI-powered CCTV systems connected to the central control room.The agency also stated that biometric verification has been conducted for every candidate appearing in the examination.
In addition, 5G jammers were switched on at the centers while the screening was being conducted. The screening process itself was completed as planned at all centres, NTA said.Input regarding alleged malpractice received after the examinationThe NTA stated that it received input on the alleged malpractice activity late in the evening of May 7, 2026, four days after the examination was conducted. According to the agency, the information was escalated to central agencies on the morning of May 8, 2026 for independent verification and further action.The statement said that subsequent actions taken by law enforcement agencies, including the arrests reported by the media in recent days, followed investigations conducted by those agencies. NTA said it is cooperating with the authorities by providing examination-related data and technical assistance necessary for the investigation.The agency also registered its appreciation for the work done by the investigating agencies in relation to the matter.The agency says the investigation is ongoingThe matter is still under investigation and the facts related to the case will be determined by the relevant agencies, NTA stated. The agency said it would not prejudge the investigation or comment on the potential outcome of the investigation.She added that any findings by agencies, including those requiring further action, will be examined transparently and disclosed in accordance with established procedures.A message addressed to the candidates and their familiesAddressing NEET (UG) 2026 candidates and their families, the NTA stated that the effort and integrity of the majority of genuine aspirants “is not in doubt, nor will it be undervalued”.The agency acknowledged the concerns arising from the reports related to the investigation and asked the candidates to allow the investigating agencies to complete their work.
