PUNE: Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune (which is a university) celebrated the 17th convocation ceremony with great enthusiasm at its campus in Pimpri.Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Minister for Communications and Minister for North Eastern Development, Government of India, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The ceremony was chaired by Dr.
BD Patel, Consultant, Dr. DY Patel Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune.During the ceremony, honorary degrees of Doctor of Science were awarded to two distinguished individuals for their outstanding contribution to medical education, healthcare, research and institutional development. Dr (Brigadier) Amarjeet Singh (Retd), Distinguished Physician, Decorated Military Officer, Academician and Institution Builder, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr.
D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune and former Dean Dr.
D Y Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, was felicitated for his outstanding service. Dr. Al-Kakrani, Distinguished Professor in the field of Medicine and Director of Academic Collaboration, Dr. D. Y. Patel Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, was also felicitated for his significant contribution to healthcare, academics and research.
As part of the honoring ceremony, 30 distinguished students from various colleges were congratulated with gold medals for their outstanding academic performance. A total of 18,720 students from nine faculties received degrees and diplomas. This included 48 Ph.D. Researchers, 16,752 graduate students, 1,905 undergraduate students and 15 diploma students.Speaking on the occasion, Scindia said: “As I look at the graduating students wearing their gowns today, I see the builders of the future in Fixit Bharat 2047.
