Abhishek Sharma made an instant impact at the top of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side in their IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, making a quick cameo that set the tone for a high-scoring outing. The left-hander scored 35 off just 13 balls, hitting two fours and six sixes during his short stay. He got going immediately, firing Arshdeep Singh for a maximum off the second ball of the innings. He followed that up by facing Marco Janssen next, clearing the ropes twice more, before adding another six from Lockie Ferguson. However, his aggressive approach ended when he attempted another air strike and was caught by Shreyas Iyer. Despite the short stay, Abhishek has reached an important milestone, becoming only the sixth batsman in the world to complete 300 T20 sixes for India. It is still Rohit Sharma who sets the standard in this category, who tops the list by a clear margin.

SRH’s innings gained more momentum
Heinrich Claassen
and
Ishan Kishan
who made the most of multiple lapses in the field to take the total to 235 for four. Klaasen, who fell early in the ninth over, went on to score 69 off 43 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes.
Kishan also enjoyed a bit of luck, surviving a dropped catch and a missed hit before amassing a quick 55 off 32 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes. The duo ensured that SRH maintained control through the middle and beyond. For Punjab,
Yuzvendra Chahal
He was an outstanding player with figures of 1/32, but his effort was overshadowed by poor support on the field. Numerous missed chances and missed stumps, all of which came off his bowling, left him visibly frustrated as SRH capitalized on posting a massive total.
