Pictures and a group of friends It has been announced that the texts are among the personal items from Matthew Perry’s estate now being offered for auction in partnership with his non-profit foundation.
Net proceeds from the charity auction “will advance Matthew’s most important legacy: building a future free from the stigma of addiction, where every person seeking recovery has access to the care, resources and community they need to thrive,” according to a statement from Heritage Auctions.
Beneficiaries also include the Matthew Perry Foundation Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital; Healing Appalachia, a sober music festival focused on recovery; and Grassroots Recovery Grants to other organizations on the front lines.
Perry, a five-time Emmy Award nominee, battled addiction most of his life and died on October 28, 2023, from the effects of ketamine use.
“Matthew Perry was someone people felt they truly knew. Through his work and honesty, he built a relationship with audiences around the world that went far beyond the screen,” Joe Maddalena, executive vice president of Heritage Auctions, said in a statement. “This auction brings together personal items and emotions that shaped his life, providing fans a meaningful way to connect with his story.
“More importantly, it allows this connection to do real good, supporting the Matthew Perry Foundation and continuing his mission to help others facing addiction. It’s a powerful way for him to live on his legacy and bring people together to support something he cares deeply about.”
Among friendsRelated items available are a collection of 26 episode scripts including “The One With Ross’s Tan”, “The One Where Joey Speaks French” and the two-part series finale “The Last One”; Two other scripts are signed by Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer and donated by Warner Bros. A photo album titled “The One With the Last Supper” with a message from “Jenny” at the back; And his replica of the famous yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment.

Also among the bidders are Perry’s SAG Award, which was presented to him in 1995 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Television Comedy Series, and works of art by the likes of Banksy and Mel Bochner.
Proxy bidding for the Matthew Perry Estate Auction opens today, allowing collectors to place bids before the live auction begins. Items can be viewed in person at the Heritage Auctions showroom in Beverly Hills from May 18-29 before the live auction takes place online and in person in Dallas on June 5.
