Bypoll Election Result Live: All eyes are on Baramati seat in Maharashtra, which fell vacant after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash. The counting of votes is scheduled to begin at eight in the morning.
Bypoll election result live: The counting of votes in the House of Representatives by-elections has begun in five states. Besides the bypoll results, the Election Commission of India will also announce the results of the Assembly elections held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. The ECI has decided to hold by-elections to fill vacant posts in Assembly constituencies across Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Nagaland and Tripura. While a bypoll was scheduled for Ponda seat in Goa, it was canceled a day before the polls by the Bombay High Court.

- Seats: The seven seats for which by-elections were held are: Umrith (Gujarat); Bagalkot, South Davanagere (Karnataka); Rahuri, Baramati (Maharashtra); Kuredang-(ST) (Nagaland) and Dharmanagar (Tripura).
- Umrith’s seat in Gujarat fell vacant after the death of Govindbhai Rajibai Parmar. In Karnataka, Bagalkot seat fell vacant after the death of HY Meti (Meti Hullappa Yamanappa), and Davanagere South after the death of Chamanur Shivashankarappa.
- In Maharashtra, vacancies occurred in Rahuri after the death of Shivaji Bhanudas Kardel and in Baramati after the death of Ajit Pawar. The Kuredang (ST) seat in Nagaland fell vacant after the death of Emkong L Imchen, while the Dharmanagar seat in Tripura fell vacant after the death of Biswa Bandu Sen, the poll body said in its official notification.

- Rahuri Maharashtra – 55.89 per cent
- Baramati in Maharashtra – 58.17 per cent
