Ahead of the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in West Bengal, three other states and a union territory, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee made a major claim in the early hours of Monday, saying that “load-sharing is being done in phases, and CCTV is being turned off” in some constituencies.

The current West Bengal Chief Minister took to X and asked people to “be vigilant, monitor and stay awake at night” and “file complaints”. Track West Bengal election results live updates
“I am receiving reports from various places that load shedding is being deliberately imposed. From Serampur in Hooghly, Krishnanagar in Nadia, to Osgram in Burdwan, and Kushudiram Anushilan Kendra in Kolkata, such incidents have come to light where load shedding is being done in phases, CCTV cameras are switched off, and vehicles are moving in and out of strong rooms,” she wrote in her post.
Banerjee said she called on her party workers to stay awake all night like her and monitor everything, guarding the strong rooms, where people’s votes are stored.

“If anyone creates any suspicious situation anywhere, corner him and file a complaint immediately, demand CCTV footage. All this is being done at the behest of the BJP,” she added.
This is not the first time Mamata has alleged misconduct in connection with the Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, TMC had alleged that it tampered with voters’ votes in Kolkata. Banerjee also called on workers to “stay awake all night and guard the EVM strong rooms.”
During the second phase of polling in West Bengal, the Election Commission received several complaints about manipulation in the electronic voting system. The survey body received at least 77 complaints related to tampering with the EVM system, an official said, 32 of which came from Valta, 13 from Galaxia, and 29 from Diamond Harbour.
The allegations come hours before the results of the Assembly elections, in which the incumbent Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee, is opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
