Bharatpur/Digh: Nine people have been booked after a 60-year-old man from Jammu and Kashmir Kathua was killed on Friday in Rajasthan’s Digh over allegations that his son had kidnapped a 16-year-old girl, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident occurred in the area of ​​Pahari Police Station when the deceased, identified as Muhammad Abdullah, visited the girl’s family in Rajasthan on April 30 to settle the matter, after registering a complaint against his son on charges of kidnapping a minor girl. The girl was arrested in Chennai while a search is underway for the man, police said.

A senior police officer said that after the settlement on Friday, the girl’s family called Abdullah at their home, where the incident took place. A complaint has been filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita divisions against the girl’s father along with eight other people, the police said, adding that an investigation is underway.
