The bodies of a five-year-old boy and his uncle were recovered from the Bargi dam in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Sunday morning, taking the death toll in the tourist boat tragedy to 13, police said.

The boat, which is about 20 years old and operated by the state Department of Tourism, capsized during a storm on Thursday evening.
“The bodies of Mayuram (5) and his uncle Kamaraj (about 50), an employee of the ordnance factory in Khamaria, were found floating and recovered from the dam,” Bargi sub-divisional police officer Anjul Ayank Mishra told PTI over phone.
He added that all 13 missing persons have now been identified, adding that the bodies have been sent to a government hospital for autopsy.
Teams of about 20 army divers were airlifted from Agra, along with personnel from the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force and local divers, participated in the search operation, police said.
Of the 41 passengers identified on the ship, 28 were rescued after the accident, according to police.
They added that surveillance camera footage near the boarding point showed 43 people heading towards the boat, although the identity of 41 passengers has been confirmed so far.
The state government on Friday ordered an investigation into the incident and fired three crew members. It also banned the operation of similar vessels in the state.
