Delhi court judge who was found He may have committed suicide at his home in Safdarjung on Saturday, taking the extreme step after “harassing” his wife, a relative alleged.

Police and building security personnel had to climb through a utility pole and break a window to get to it after finding the door locked from the inside. The judge was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital around 1:30 pm, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Delhi judge suicide: probable cause of death
Although the police did not issue an official statement about the cause of death, a relative of the judge told reporters that the judge had been facing domestic problems with his wife in recent weeks. The judge’s relative said that the judge’s wife and father were present in the apartment at the time of the accident.
The judge’s father arrived in Delhi from Al-War on Friday after receiving a distress call from his son, according to his relative. He later told police that the couple had been having domestic disputes for nearly two months.
Speaking to reporters, his relative alleged that the judge’s sister-in-law, a government employee working in Jammu and Kashmir, was “interfering” in the couple’s affairs.
“On his arrival, he (the judge’s father) learned that he was having a dispute with his wife. He told his father that he had been harassed for the past two months,” the judge’s relative told news agency ANI.
He added: “His father said that his daughter-in-law told him that if she doesn’t leave here, she will call the police. The next morning, (the judge)’s father tried to call his daughter-in-law’s parents, but they turned off his phone. Then a fight broke out at home.”
No signs of foul play
Police said they received information about the accident from a relative and arrived at the scene shortly after. While no signs of foul play were found, officers said all angles were being examined as part of investigation procedures. The body was sent for autopsy.
According to relatives, the family took the body to Alwar for the last rites.
The judge joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021, after obtaining his law degree from Symbiosis Law College, Pune. During his tenure, he served as a first-class judicial magistrate and civil judge, handling a range of criminal and civil cases.
Last month, a 26-year-old Delhi High Court lawyer allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the balcony of a 15th-floor hotel in Connaught Place. Police said he left behind a two-page note that did not hold anyone responsible.
He reached the balcony by breaking through the guardrail, and bottles of alcohol were found in his room. His family, who were looking for him, arrived at the hotel shortly after the accident.
