Alia Bhatt has reportedly joined the film ‘Tumbbad 2’ which is helmed by Sohum Shah, who is also working as a producer. The ‘Alpha’ actress is expected to appear in a special role, according to reports.

Although brief, it is said to play a major role in shaping the narrative.

The project is currently being shot in Mumbai and its portions are likely to go on floors from May 3.

The film was officially released in April with a traditional Muhurat ceremony. Sohum Shah shared glimpses of the puja on social media. The event was attended by Jayantilal Jada and Dhaval Jada. Industry figures Boney Kapoor and Tutu Sharma were also present at the event. Sharing the pictures, the actor wrote: “With blessings and gratitude, the journey of Tumbad 2 begins, as we come together to take the story forward.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Adds star power

The film actually features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in an important role. His participation was confirmed earlier this year. Earlier in March, the makers welcomed Nawazuddin Siddiqui to the project via Instagram. Their announcement read: “We are thrilled to announce that one of the finest actors of our time, @nawazuddin._siddiqui, has joined #Tumbbad2. Hello, Nawaz Bhai!”Directed by Adesh Prasad, ‘Tumbbad 2’ will continue the mythology introduced in 2018. On the last day, the makers shared the first look poster of the sequel and announced the release date set to be December 3, 2027.
