succession Creator Jesse Armstrong will deliver a keynote speech at the upcoming Banff World Media Festival.

The multiple Emmy Award winner also made his directorial debut with the HBO film starring Steve Carell Mountainheada drama about billionaire friends during the ongoing international financial crisis, has been entered into competition in this year’s Banff Rockies Awards.

“Jesse Armstrong isn’t just capturing the cultural conversation, he’s leading it,” Banff Festival Executive Director Gene Kuzmic said in a statement. “Having him join us in Banff alongside an incredible group of creatives, executives, and industry disruptors says everything about where the global media industry is now: bold, unpredictable, and rapidly evolving.”

Also taking part in the keynote talks in Banff will be Georgie Holt, CEO of FlightStory, the new media studio behind Stephen Bartlett’s film. CEO Diaries Podcast, and Happy days alum Henry Winkler, who was involved with A+E Factual Studios in Dangerous history History series.

The Banff show, which is scheduled to run from June 14-17, will also open with Adam Cunningham, CEO of Allied Global Marketing, in conversation to discuss the future of brands and content producers amid a rapidly transforming and fragmented media and entertainment landscape.

The festival will also include a panel discussion and brand storytelling programming on June 17 centered around fan-driven content to grow audiences amid the fast-growing creator economy that is increasingly fueling Hollywood as digital disruptions fuel studios’ talent pipelines, drive marketing strategies and redefine who becomes a star.

Banff previously announced that Jenny Howe, head of scripted series in the US and Canada at Netflix, will also be the festival’s keynote speaker, while Spain will be the country of honor for 2026.
