As soon as voting in the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections ended, pollsters started publishing their predictions for the seats in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry.

Axis My India’s post-poll projections showed the BJP-led NDA winning Assam by a comfortable margin, while the Congress-led United Democratic Front won in Kerala.

For Puducherry, the exit poll showed NDA ally AINRC winning the union territory, with the Congress-DMK alliance slipping to second place.

What the poll forecasts show for four states and one state

The “Axis of India” forecast for Kerala showed that the Congress-led alliance won between 78 and 90 seats, while the ruling Left Front fell by 49 and 62 seats. The NDA is likely to get 0-3 seats.

In Tamil Nadu, the exit poll showed a fierce fight between the ruling DMK and Vijay’s TVK, which made its debut in this election. While Stalin’s party was expected to get 92-110 seats, Vijay’s party was expected to get 98-120 seats. The National Democratic Alliance Party, which was the main competitor in the state, fell to third place, winning 22-32 seats.

In Assam, the NDA is expected to register a comfortable win, with the BJP alliance bagging 88-100 seats, while the Congress front bagged 24-36 seats. While the African Union is set to get empty seats in the elections, others are expected to get between zero and three seats.

In Puducherry, the NDA alliance is expected to get 16-20 seats, while the DMK-Congress alliance is expected to get 6-8 seats.

According to Axis My India forecasts, Himanta Biswa Sarma is the most favored candidate for the chief minister’s post in Assam with 48 per cent votes, while N Rangaswamy has the highest support in Puducherry with 42 per cent votes.

In Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan was the most favored candidate for the post of Chief Minister of Kerala with an approval rating of 33 per cent.
