2026 election exit poll live: Polling stations are expected to release exit poll forecasts for the Assembly elections in four states — Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal — and the union territory of Puducherry from 6:30 pm today. While voting has ended in the states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the second and final phase of voting is taking place today in West Bengal, and only after its completion can the exit poll results be published, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI) rules.

Besides the Assembly elections, by-elections were also held for eight seats in six states. Five seats – Goa (Punda), Karnataka (Bajalkot, Devanagiri), Nagaland (Koredang), and Tripura (Dharmanagar) – were voted on on 9 April, while three seats in Gujarat (Umrith) and Maharashtra (Rahori, Baramati) were voted on on 23 April.

– Voting in the House of Representatives elections: Voting for the Assam, Kerala and Puducherry assembly elections was held in a single phase on April 9. Tamil Nadu also voted in one phase on April 23 along with the first phase of West Bengal polls, with the second and final phase being held today.
-When will the results appear: The results of the assembly elections and bypolls for eight constituencies in six states will be announced on May 4, the day the Election Commission counts the votes.
– Voting time in the elections: Voting ideally takes place from 7 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m., however, it does not end until all the people in the last lines have cast their votes.
Assembly seats: Assam has a total of 126 assembly seats, Kerala 140, Tamil Nadu 234, Bengal 294, and Puducherry 30. This makes the majority represent a party or coalition that needs to be able to form a government in Assam 64, in Kerala 71, in Bengal 148, and 16 in Puducherry.
-Time of exit of survey results: Opinion poll forecasts for the current election cycle will not be released until after the official restriction period ends, in accordance with European Commission guidelines. The Election Commission has clearly defined a “silence period” during which the results of the voter poll cannot be published or broadcast. According to the rules, media organizations are prohibited from conducting or publishing exit polls from 7am on April 9 to 6:30pm on April 29.

Voting percentage in Bengal today: The state recorded a voting percentage of 78.68 till 3 pm in the second phase, which began at 6 am today, according to Election Commission of India (ECI) data.
