Months after Ranveer Singh’s high-profile exit from Don 3, differences between the actor and his production company Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani remain unresolved, with conflicting reports continuing to emerge over whether a financial settlement has been reached.
According to the latest reports, the two sides have not yet reached a solution.
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production house denies reports of settlement
However, a new report states that the production company has firmly backed away from these claims. According to Screen, those familiar with the developments reported that there is no final result yet and that negotiations are still continuing without anything changing on the ground. Excel Entertainment’s involvement in ‘Pralay’ has also been disputed.
The report further stated that the production house currently has no relationship with the film.‘Pralay’ is linked to Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair’s production projects and is yet to receive an official announcement.
Settlement reports “under 3”.
Recent reports suggested that Ranveer Singh has quietly settled matters with Excel Entertainment, suggesting that he has agreed to reimburse the production company for pre-production costs amounting to Rs 10 crore.
An earlier Free Press Journal report also claimed that as part of the deal, the actor was offered an undisclosed stake in his upcoming project ‘Pralay’, an apocalyptic zombie horror film that he is producing under his own banner.
More on the Don 3 conflict.
For the unversed, this rift came to attention earlier this year when Ranveer Singh exited the film ‘Don 3’, soon after the success of ‘Dhurandhar’. Reports cited disagreements over the script, project delays, and concerns about production management.
The manufacturers have reportedly sought reimbursement of Rs 40 crore, citing pre-production investments, schedule changes, and losses due to cancellation of associated projects.Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s side reportedly confirmed that he walked out due to dissatisfaction with the script, lack of a restricted script and not receiving advance payments or compensation for lost time when other projects, including ‘Baiju Bawra’, were postponed. With the ongoing dispute surrounding “Don 3”, the future of the franchise remains uncertain. While rumors have linked Hrithik Roshan with the role, the actor has publicly denied being approached. Speculation is now rising that Farhan Akhtar himself may return to the lead role, or the entire project may be rebooted with a new star.
