The Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that the talks discussed issues including market access, non-tariff measures, technical barriers to trade and customs, facilitating trade, encouraging investment, and harmonizing economic security and digital trade. The statement added, “The meetings took place in a constructive and positive spirit, with meaningful and forward-looking discussions that allowed for progress on key issues. Both sides agreed to continue engagement to maintain this momentum as they move forward.”As the tariff landscape in the United States changes, the two sides are reconsidering the framework of the agreement, the text of which was issued on February 7. US Trade Representative Jamison Greer said India was a “tough nut to crack.”
