Prithviraj recalls meeting Sachin Tendulkar on plane: 'I felt ignorant'

Sachin Tendulkar turned 53 on Friday, and wishes poured in from fans and celebrities across the board, including cinema. The Malayalam actor, who has been a long-time fan of Sachin, once recalled how a flying coincidence with a multiplication symbol became a memory that he would cherish for life.

According to Cinema Express, Prithviraj once shared the story at an event. The actor said that he met Sachin Tendulkar during a flight and was amazed when the cricketer sat in the seat next to him.“When I boarded the plane, Sachin sat right next to me as the last passenger. I am a huge fan of Sachin. When he sat next to me, I didn’t know what to say to him and felt ignorant,” Prithviraj said.The actor added that another passenger sitting behind him asked for Sachin’s signature on the cricketer’s CV.

That moment helped Prithviraj start a conversation with his idol.“By the grace of God, when that passenger got his signature, Sachin turned to me and said, ‘This is my CV.’ I said, ‘I know, sir,’” Prithviraj recalls. “I just finished reading it early this morning.”

The conversation didn’t end there. Prithviraj said that Sachin spoke to him until the flight landed in Mumbai. The actor admitted that the moment has stayed with him even though Sachin probably doesn’t remember it now.

“After that, Sachin Tendulkar spoke to me till the plane landed in Mumbai. I am 100 per cent sure that Sachin may not remember our interaction today, but I cannot forget him for the rest of my life,” he said.Prithviraj later met Sachin again in the UK during the shooting of his film ‘Adam Jawan’. He shared the moment on social media and wrote: “I believe in God because I’ve seen him…many times!”Sachin also has a strong connection with Kerala. He once owned Kerala Blasters, whose brand ambassador was Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly.
