Jimmy Page, known to fans as The Giant on “Gladiators,” has announced his departure from the show after the end of the current series. The bodybuilder and former professional firefighter from Ilkeston in Derbyshire has been part of the show since its return in 2024, becoming one of its most recognizable faces.
However, it seems that his exit was not easy at all. The 6ft 5in star has made it clear that the decision wasn’t entirely his.On Instagram, Bigg confirmed that he would not be returning for season four, and a spokesperson for the show also confirmed the news, saying: “After three tremendous series, Giant Gladiators is leaving. We would like to thank him for everything he has contributed to the show and wish him well for the future.”
What did the giant say about his departure?
In an emotional post, Page addressed his fans directly and wasn’t shy about pointing out that his exit was more than just a simple decision to move on.“To the Gladiator family. I want to let you all know that I will not be returning for Season 4 of the TV show. Being a Gladiator has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Stepping into that arena, hearing the audience, who represents strength, resilience and being a role model, is something I will carry with me forever,” he wrote.
“What I want to make clear is that this was not a decision I made to step down. I was faced with a choice that did not align with my values. And if you know me, you know this: I stand for my people, and I stand for what I believe in. This is what being a role model means to me. I am proud of everything I have brought to this show and grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. This is not the end. This is just the beginning. Stay strong.”
“Stand tall,” he added.
Who is the giant?
The 6ft 5in star, who boasts 52cm biceps and consumes 10,000 calories a day to maintain his fit physique, has been part of the ‘Gladiators’ since his return in 2024. In January, he confirmed he had relinquished his double title Christian Johal in favor of Paige, following his divorce and recent diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
