While preparing for her Netflix movie Apex, Charlize Theron discovered a pleasant surprise in her rock climbing training: the unflinching adventure of her 11-year-old daughter, August. Their shared moments on the climbing wall not only strengthened their bond, but also provided Charlize with a new lens through which to view her rigorous preparation.
Charlize Theron said rock climbing for her upcoming Netflix movie Apex gave her an unexpected opportunity to bond with her youngest daughter, August. The actress shared that August 11 joined her during her training sessions and quickly showed a fearless side on the climbing wall.
Theron said the experience helped her through the physically demanding preparation and gave her a new way to spend time with her child while working in a high-intensity role.

According to ANI, Theron spoke about his experience at the “Apex” premiere in New York City. She said she trained with professional climber Beth Rhoden and brought August with her to the sessions. Kid Roden also joins them, and the two kids form an adventurous duo while the adults train nearby.“She’s a little reckless,” Theron said at the Apex premiere. “Beth and I were working on one side, and whenever I got tired, I would look up and see they were climbing these walls.”The actress said watching children climb without fear helped her stay motivated. She said their simple approach reminds her not to overthink the task at hand.“It was good for me to see that,” she added. “Sometimes, as an adult, you get caught up in the mechanics of it.
And then you look at these kids who don’t know anything, and they say, “We have to get to the top.” And she says, ‘Okay, that’s all I have to do.’ Just go to the top. “It was fun to share that with her,” according to E! News.
Charlize Theron’s ‘Apex’ Training and Mother’s Day Plans
Theron, who also has a 14-year-old daughter named Jackson, joked about what she wants for Mother’s Day. “They’d better bring me tea or something in bed. Hint, hint.”The “Atomic Blonde” star also spoke about why she continues to take on action-packed roles.
Physical storytelling gives actors a different way to express emotion and personality on screen, she said.“Our physical bodies can say a lot,” she explained. “We as actors sometimes use words as a crutch, and when you strip all that away, it’s a really good exercise for actors to really understand that the mind and body have to be connected,” according to E! news.Apex is set to be a Netflix action film, with Theron’s preparations focused on rigorous rock climbing training.
