Violent Soho announces first Australian shows in four years with east coast return

After weeks of speculation and an appearance at the Sydney Opera House alongside Mark Hoppus, Violent Soho have confirmed their return to the big stage. The Brisbane band returns to the stage for the first time in four years, announcing three headline dates on the east coast this September.The show opens at the Enmore Theater on September 11, before heading to Melbourne’s Forum on September 18, concluding with a hometown show at Fortitude Music Hall on September 25. Support across all dates comes from Beddy Rays, with Teenage Joans opening in Sydney and Secret World joining the Melbourne bill.

What did the band say about their comeback?

The band kept it characteristically clear in their statement. “Some of the guys play golf, and we play in a band.

For us, that band is Violent Soho and we missed making noise together.” They added that after more than 20 years together, they have learned not to force things, but now seems like the right time to make a comeback.

The announcement follows renewed interest in their landmark fourth album ‘WACO’, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a new vinyl record.

Who is violent soho

Formed in Mansfield, Brisbane in 2004, Violent Soho became one of the defining Australian guitar bands of their era. Loud, sharp and down to earth, they’ve amassed ARIA Awards, platinum singles and multiple number one albums, with songs like “Covered in Chrome” becoming staples of the Triple J generation. The band later stepped back from gigs in 2022.
