Paramount doubles down Heart eyes. The studio has set a Valentine’s Day weekend release date of February 11, 2028.
Paramount will co-produce and co-finance Heart eyes 2 Along with Spyglass Media Group and handling global distribution. (Sony had a domestic role in the first film, while Paramount handled international for the rom-com sequel.)
Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt starred in the first film as a killer targeting romantic partners on Valentine’s Day mistook them for co-workers. It grossed $33.1 million globally after opening on Valentine’s Day Weekend last year.
Josh directed the first Rubin Heart eyes He will return to direct and co-write the sequel screenplay with Darcy Fowler, from a story by Christopher Landon and Michael Kennedy. (Landon and Kennedy wrote the screenplay for the first film with Philip Murphy.) Landon and Divide/Conquer will produce that film.
At this point, it’s too early to say whether Gooding or Hoult will return for the sequel.
