The Delhi Police on Wednesday described the 19-year-old accused of killing the daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer at her residence in southeast Delhi as a gambler, an addict and a person who had accumulated debts that he had failed to repay. Police said the victim was strangled using a mobile phone charger.

“The servant was appointed a year ago on the recommendation of a junior officer. He was borrowing money frequently and about a month and a half ago he was fired,” said Vijay Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Province.
He added, “He returned today and after committing the crime he changed his pants. The motive is still under investigation, but personal grudges may be a possible factor.”
The police also referred to a similar incident involving the accused in Alwar, where he was arrested.

The accused was arrested today
The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested the accused in the murder of the daughter of a senior government employee, who was found dead at her home in Kailash Hills earlier in the day.
Police suspect that a former domestic maid was behind the crime. Officials said that suspicions were hovering around him because he was dismissed from service about a month and a half ago.
Two videos also emerged showing the accused walking towards the house at 6:28 am and leaving at 7:22 am, according to Delhi Police.
What is the situation?
A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered at her home in south-east Delhi’s upscale Kailash Hills area on Wednesday morning, with police suspecting the involvement of a former domestic help.
According to a report by ANI, investigators believe that a charging cable was used in the murder. The victim is also the daughter of a government employee.
The police received information about the incident around 9 am from the victim’s parents, who claimed that their former domestic help was involved in their daughter’s murder.
According to the police, the woman had completed engineering and was preparing for the civil services exam.
“What we should know is that after committing the crime in Rajasthan, he escaped from there and came to Delhi. He directly reached here in Kailash Hills. He knew exactly the point where the girls’ parents hide the keys when they go out to the gym.”
