Judy Greer remembers when she… Wedding planner Once upon a time, co-star Matthew McConaughey came to her rescue.
During a recent interview with Entertainment tonightThe actress said she got herself into a situation when she accidentally parked her car at an upscale New York City hotel to read for the 2001 romantic comedy, starring McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez. Greer played Penny, the latter’s best friend in the film.
“I had my car serviced, and I didn’t know any better,” Greer said when she arrived at the Roosevelt Hotel. “I didn’t have enough money to get my car out of the valet because I was so broke.”
She continued: “I was talking on the pay phone in the hallway, calling my friend Sean Gunn[[Gilmore Girls and Guardians of the Galaxy Actor]and Matthew McConaughey heard me and gave me $20. “I felt very intimidated, but also: my hero.”
Directed by Adam Shankman, the film tells the story of Mary Fiore (Lopez), San Francisco’s most successful wedding planner, who books the biggest wedding of her career. But when she realizes that she has unwittingly fallen in love with groom Steve Edison (McConaughey), she must decide whether she will help him marry his fiancée or finally become the bride.
When you think about when it was filmed Wedding plannerGreer said she remembers “how beautiful Matthew McConaughey was. I loved seeing him with hair and makeup every morning, because he was wearing his Yerba Mate pajamas.” [tea]. I haven’t worked with him since then, but I have a feeling not much has changed.
After the film was a box office success, Greer went on to book roles in other romantic comedies, including… 13 going to 30 and 27 dresses.
