Abhishek Bachchan may be known for taking risks on screen, but when it comes to comments on his performances, there is one opinion he deliberately avoids, and that is that of his daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.Often compared to his father, superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek has carved out his own space with a series of notable performances.
But in a recent interaction, he revealed why he chose to keep his daughter’s thoughts about his films at bay.Speaking at IFP about how Aaradhya reacted to his work, Abhishek clarified his stance. “I will never ask her”Explaining the reasoning behind his decision, the actor admitted that knowing her honest opinion might influence his creative process.“I’m going to let this idea stay in my head. Once she answers—whether she likes it or not—it will change and change the way I approach my work.
Off duty, I don’t ask her because I’m probably not strong enough to hear what she has to say. I’d rather live in the illusion of what you may or may not want.
“Kids today are brutally honest.”
Abhishek also thought about how today’s generation of kids communicate more openly, which can be both refreshing and challenging at the same time.“Kids today are so confident and know exactly what they want. They’re so good at getting it across. For people of my generation, it can sometimes be hard to just listen, because they’re so honest — and even though they should be, it’s not always what you want to hear.”
As a parent, I want to do the work I believe in without being influenced by her opinion now. Maybe that will change over time.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever ask.”
While leaving room for the possibility of this happening in the distant future, Abhishek emphasized that for now he prefers not to know.“God willing, if I’m around when she has her kids, I might ask her then. But as of now, I don’t want to be influenced by what she thinks. I don’t think I’ll ever ask her.”“I’m sure she’ll find an opportunity to tell me anyway, but I never asked her,” he added, smiling.
