Dubai has launched a new initiative titled “Work from the Garden” that aims to transform public parks into spaces where people can work, relax and communicate, as the city looks to adapt to changing work habits and improve the quality of life. The program, launched by Dubai Municipality, will create designated work areas within parks, allowing professionals to work in open, nature-based environments. The idea is to make parks more useful throughout the day while supporting remote workers, freelancers and small businesses. As part of the offering, the municipality signed agreements with Group AMANA and Letswork to design, build and operate these workspaces.

The project is also in line with broader long-term plans such as the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, the Dubai 2040 Parks and Green Spaces Strategy, and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The first location will open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park. It will include modular workspaces built to high sustainability standards and designed to blend into the park’s natural environment. More locations are expected to open across Dubai later this year.

Badr Anwahi, CEO of the Public Utilities Corporation at Dubai Municipality, said: “The ‘Work from the Park’ initiative launched by Dubai Municipality reflects our commitment to transforming public parks into future-ready urban spaces that improve the quality of life while supporting economic activity.” He added that the partnerships will help provide flexible and sustainable infrastructure that suits modern work patterns.

These spaces will be built using modular construction methods led by AMANA Group through its DuBox division.

This approach allows modules to be built off-site and assembled quickly, reducing waste and environmental impact while maintaining high quality and flexibility. Richard Abboud, CEO of Amana Group, said: “We are pleased to be part of the ‘Work from the Park’ initiative, noting that modular construction enables efficient and adaptable working environments. The operational side will be handled by Letswork, which will provide access to the facilities through its platform.

Users will be able to reserve hot desks, event areas, podcast studios and creative production spaces within the parks. “Our partnership represents an important step towards redefining the future of flexible work in the UAE,” said Omar Al Muhairi, co-founder of Letswork, adding that the initiative will also offer creative spaces and tools for content creators. The project will also include workshops, training courses and collaborative programs aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and developing skills within Dubai’s growing creative economy. By bringing together public and private partners, the initiative is expected to open new investment opportunities while making the parks more active and community-focused. It is part of Dubai’s broader efforts to build a more resilient, sustainable and innovation-based urban environment.
