Nadia’s daughters, Celia and Shanna ChasmanHe wrote in a written statement to AFP, according to multiple media outlets. “France has lost a great artist, but for us, she is above all the mother we have just lost,” they added.

Nadia was recovered unconscious from the swimming pool of a private gym in the 9th arrondissement of Paris on April 11, 2026. According to multiple media outlets, paramedics performed CPR before Nadia was taken to Pitié-Salpetriere Hospital. She was then placed in an artificial coma.

As previously mentioned, Nadia is survived by her two daughters, Celia and Shanna Chasman. Celia wrote a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram to her late mother after her death was announced to AFP.
“Mama. This is a heartbreak I will never get over,” she began her caption. “Every day, I wake up and pray that this is not a nightmare and that you are still with us. I know you fought so hard for your children. Thank you. Thank you for fighting, thank you for giving me life, thank you for every memory, thank you for laughing and crying.”
Celia added that she had just spoken to her mother on the phone on the Saturday before she died.
“On Saturday, we were on the phone, and you told me you weren’t afraid to die, and I responded that I was afraid you would die, and the next day, the universe decided it was your time,” Celia continued. “As much as it hurts me, it gives me some comfort knowing that you weren’t afraid. I know you did your best to stay, I sat on the edge of your bed and begged and begged you to stay, and the universe took you anyway.”
