All of India The Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Sunday denied a media report alleging that the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) has suspended its operations in West Bengal for 20 days.

The party described this allegation as “completely baseless” and aimed at “creating confusion” during the ongoing 2026 House of Representatives election campaign.
Statement issued by I-PAC
“We have come across a media report claiming that IPAC has ‘ceased operations in West Bengal for the next 20 days’. This claim is completely baseless and appears to be a deliberate attempt to create confusion on the ground,” TMC said in a statement.
“The IPAC WB team remains fully engaged with AITC, and campaign operations continue as planned across the state. These narratives are a deliberate attempt to distract from the clear mood on the ground.”
“The people of Bengal are fully capable of seeing through these attempts and will respond democratically. West Bengal will not be affected by misinformation or intimidation. They will respond decisively on 23 and 29 and the results of May 4 will reflect their judgement,” the statement read.
The report cites the ED action
The response came in the wake of a Deccan Herald report that suggested a 20-day pause in I-PAC activities, citing the recent action taken by the Enforcement Directorate in the alleged coal smuggling case.
I-PAC is a key strategic advisor to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Trinamool Congress for 2026 elections. The report also noted the arrest of I-PAC co-founder Vinesh Chandel in Delhi and multiple searches conducted at offices and buildings linked to the organization’s executives in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata earlier this month.
The report also said that I-PAC management has advised employees at its Kolkata office to take a 20-day leave, with a situation review scheduled on May 11 to determine future operations.
I-PAC, set up by political strategist Prashant Kishor in 2013, became known for its role in Narendra Modi’s 2014 prime ministerial election.
Since then, she has advised multiple parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, DMK and TMC.
