New Delhi: Virat Kohli is usually in the limelight for his batting brilliance – big runs, match-winning knocks, and his ability to chase down runs. But this time, the superstar is attracting attention for a different reason.
Kohli, who is currently featuring in IPL 2026, allegedly ‘liked’ a photo of German influencer model LizLaz.Within minutes, screenshots of the interaction spread across social media, turning a small action into a viral talking point. Interestingly, Kohli does not follow the influencer, which has increased curiosity about the incident.

LizLaz, who suddenly found herself trending online, later responded to the situation.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, she said: “It was crazy because I woke up and then I was all over the news.” She also explained how she found out: “I don’t even know when he liked the photo, I found out through the news. A lot of people found articles written about me on many different platforms and sent them to me in my direct messages. I received a lot of messages today, and people were very excited about it.”
“When asked about Kohli’s dislike of the post later, she added: “I felt a little sorry for him actually!” She continued, “I was so happy that he liked it, but then he didn’t like it. I felt bad for him because I don’t even know how it became such a big story.”
How people noticed, how they made it news… that may not have been his intention, but I’m still grateful for it and appreciate the support from him.LizLaz also revealed that she is a fan of Kohli. “I also started traveling around South India, Goa, Mysore, as far as Coorg, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and later the north as well. This trip was when I was introduced to cricket as a sport. I had never watched it before or anything else.”

This is not the first time Kohli has been in the news for such incidents. Earlier, he had briefly liked a post by Avneet Kaur, which also created a stir on social media.
Kohli later issued a clarification, saying: “I would like to clarify that while scanning my feed, it appears that the algorithm may have mistakenly recorded an interaction. There was absolutely no intention behind it. I request that unnecessary assumptions are not made. Thank you for your understanding.”
