“They saw me in a very dark place.”
Speaking about her lowest point, Hansika shared that her mother Mona Motwani and brother Prashant Motwani stood steadfastly by her side when she was struggling emotionally. She told Hauterrfly, “My brother and I are very close. He supported me the whole time – he was very strong. Both my mother and brother told me: ‘If you’re not comfortable, don’t go through it.’She added that her family saw a side of her that they had never seen before.
“They saw me in a very dark place. I’m usually a very happy person, so for them to see me like that was worrying. They told me – whatever you decide, we are with you.”The actress also recalled strong advice from her mother that shaped how she dealt with the situation privately.“My mother once told me, ‘Your pain can’t be someone else’s entertainment.’ So no one knows when I’m drowning. Once I’m done with it, what people say doesn’t matter.”
The treatment helped her recover
Hansika revealed that the past two years have focused on rebuilding her mental health, a journey that began after a close friend encouraged her to seek professional help.“For the last two years, I’ve been focusing on my mental health. I was in a very dark place and didn’t understand mental health at all. My friend pulled me out of that phase. She said, ‘Let’s try therapy.’ I told her I couldn’t do all this research, so I took it all in, found a doctor and got to work.”Describing conversion therapy, she added: “It’s been two years now, and I love it. It’s helped me become a better person and taught me how to deal with things I didn’t know how to deal with before.”
