“Top Gun 3” is officially out, with Tom Cruise returning as intrepid pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.The announcement came Thursday during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon, an annual weeklong summit at which Hollywood studios present their biggest upcoming films to theater owners and the press.

Paramount Skydance president David Ellison told the audience that the studio will guarantee a 45-day theatrical run for its films before moving them to streaming platforms.
“Once we unite with Warner Brothers, we will produce at least 30 films a year,” Ellison said in a pledge to cinema owners. “Long live the movies.”
