Amid much hype and anticipation, Marvel Studios took the stage at CinemaCon on Thursday to share with audiences an update on the highly anticipated superhero film. Pictures from the events saw the aisles turn green with ‘Avengers’ movie posters showing the film’s release date – December 18, 2026.
With this, the film is now set for a high-profile clash at the box office with ‘Dune: Part Three’. Confirmation also came during CinemaCon, where Kevin Feige made a noticeable appearance wearing an “Avengers: Doomsday” hat. He was joined by Chris Evans and the Russo Brothers directing duo, who were on hand to promote the upcoming film.
Amid widespread speculation that Marvel may release a new trailer or provide the first official look at Robert Downey Jr.
As Doctor Doom, the studio instead revealed select footage as part of Disney’s opening reel.The preview reportedly included a series of stunning moments previously shown in teasers released in December with “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” According to fan posts, the clip showed a shot of Captain America’s foot pressing a bicycle pedal, Thor talking to the father, and a closing sequence showing Captain America picking up his suit and holding his child.
The footage culminates with the giant unleashing its optic blasts.
The show concluded with the message “Disney Will Return To CinemaCon” appearing on screen, followed by an Avengers-themed countdown clock.The release date confirmation comes amid chatter that Marvel will move the film’s release date forward to December 11 to take advantage of IMAX screens. According to reports, the makers of “Dune: Part Three” have reserved all IMAX screens for their film’s release and have also taken a weeks-long screening, depriving the Avengers movie of IMAX screenings. According to reports, with no IMAX viewings for three weeks, “Avengers” will be released in all other premium formats.
