Santa’s naughty list just got a little longer in the first trailer for Violent night 2which bowed at CinemaCon Wednesday during the World Showcase. David Harbor stars as vengeful Santa Claus in the 2022 sequel to the original film, with Kristen Bell joining the franchise as Mrs. Claus.

The footage begins with Santa Harbor, who is kicked out of his party at the North Pole and finds himself wandering around a holiday mall. He finds Santa at the mall and sees the kids writing their wish lists and he confides in them, “I probably killed a lot of people.” Harbor turns into the mall Santa himself, when it is revealed that his elves want to kill him via a mission from villain Jared Harris.

While fending off attacks inside the mall, Harbor promises “I’ve got reinforcements coming” – which leads to the arrival of Belle, who announces, “Get your man, he’s been captured” as she swings in to rescue him. And don’t expect Mrs. Claus to be usually vulgar; She wears a fashionable red outfit with white trim, accompanied by some serious weapon skills.

Tommy Wirkola directs again Violent night 2with producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch of 87North, along with screenwriting team Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

Newcomers to the cast include Daniela Melchior and Joe Pantoliano.

In 2022, Wirkola said Hollywood Reporter He had ideas about elements of a sequel that didn’t fit with the original. “We don’t see the North Pole, we don’t see Mrs. Claus, we don’t see the elves,” Wirkola said. “There were also some ideas in the script that we liked, but had to delete because we couldn’t afford to film them.”

The film’s release date is December 4.
