The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai will roll out its first 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in Digital Science and Business Administration this year in collaboration with IIT Bombay and industry partners.The announcement was made by IIM Mumbai Director Professor Manoj Tiwari on Saturday.“This program brings together the most transformative technologies of recent times – artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, Internet of Things, and robotics, and seamlessly integrates with the core pillars of management: operations, marketing, finance, and manufacturing,” he said at the certification ceremony for the institute’s first batch of MBAs.The program, which has 70 seats, is designed to meet the evolving needs of digital industries by creating future-ready professionals who can work at the intersection of technology and business leadership, he said.The degree programme, which will cost Rs 6-7 lakh per annum, will be in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and several industry partners who will teach the students the technological aspect, Tiwari said.
“IIM Mumbai will teach the business administration aspect with a 100 per cent placement guarantee,” he said.Selection is done through Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main), followed by an interview, Tiwari said.“We will also give third-year students in the third year of the course the option of pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which they can complete in one year directly after the four-year undergraduate programme,” he added.He added that the institute plans to offer more bachelor’s programs, but that can only happen after the institute modernizes its infrastructure.“We currently have a capacity of 1,200 students. After we upgrade our infrastructure that can accommodate more students, we will introduce more undergraduate programmes,” Professor Tiwari said.A total of 505 students graduated from the IIM Mumbai campus on Saturday, following its official recognition from NITIE (National Institute of Training in Industrial Engineering) in 2026, according to the institute.In the MBA batches, 300 students graduated from the General MBA course, 177 students from the MBA – Operations and Supply Chain Management, and 28 students from the MBA – Sustainability Management.In addition, 39 students graduated from the first batch of the one-year Executive Graduate Program in Logistics and Operations Excellence through Digitization, 26 students from the one-year Executive Graduate Program, and 6 students from the Ph.D. PTI
