The production house announced the postponement soon after news of Asha Bhosle’s death broke, citing the timing of her funeral as the main reason. Instead of going ahead with a promotional release on a national day of mourning for one of India’s greatest musical voices, Dharma chose to back out as a sign of respect.

The production house said in an official statement: “In honor of the legacy that has shaped generations, and with deep respect for the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, we are postponing the release of the title track of Chand Mera Dil by a day.

“This decision has been taken as a mark of respect and sincere memory of Asha Bhosle, whose lasting impact on music continues to inspire generations.”

Asha Bhosle dies

Asha Bhosle died at the age of 92 after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to heart and respiratory complications. Reports indicate that she has not been in good health for several months. She was taken to hospital in critical condition and transferred to the intensive care unit on Saturday evening before she died on Sunday afternoon.

More about Chand Mera Dil

Directed by Vivek Soni, the film features Lakshya and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. They will be seen as engineering college students in the film. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. It will clash at the box office with Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’.
