Girl group BINI made history on Friday, becoming the first Filipino group to perform at Coachella.

The eight-member girl group, which includes members Aiah, Colette, Malloy, Gwen, Stacey, Micah, Joanna and Sheena, made their Coachella debut at the Mojave Stage. They performed a 45-minute set that included many of the group’s hit songs.

Penny took the stage in an intricate gold dress that she wore during her opening song, “Shaggidi.” At the end of the song, the women tore off the gold clothing to reveal the turquoise blue sequined look they wore for the rest of the performance.

“We are Benny, coming from the Philippines,” the group shouted to the cheering crowd as they introduced themselves. Fans in the audience raised the Philippine flag.

“We are so happy to be here to represent the Philippines on the world stage and to share our music with you guys,” Aya told the crowd.

BINI has continued to bring Pinoy pop, also known as P-pop, to the global stage since their debut in 2020. The group was formed by Philippine media company ABS-CBN’s chain Star Hunt Academy. The eight-member group, known as the country girl group in the Philippines, achieved widespread fame with their tropical pop song “Pantropico”.

The girl group released their third EP, Signals, on Thursday ahead of their Coachella debut. They performed the album’s single “Blush” during their Coachella set. BINI will return for the second weekend of Coachella on April 17.

The 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G are headlining the Desert Music Festival with Addison Rae, Katsi, Pink Panthers, Big Bang, The XX, Lovi, The Strokes and Young Thug, among other artists taking the stage at Coachella.
