Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shared his experience before heading to a massive public rally in Purba Bardhaman, saying the enthusiasm of people in West Bengal reflects the mood across the state.

In a post shared on X, the Prime Minister wrote about the energy and turnout at the rally held amidst the scorching heat.
“Ahead of my rally in Purba Bardhaman, which just ended… noontime. Extreme heat. But West Bengal enthusiasm is spreading across the state,” PM Modi said.
In a video shared with the publication, the Prime Minister can be seen interacting with his supporters before addressing the public meeting, describing the overwhelming response he received upon his arrival.
“Dear friends, you can see behind me what the mood is in Bengal. It is only 11:00 am to 11:30 am, and this is my first meeting of the day. There are thousands of people, youth, mothers and sisters here at the helipad. This is an amazing sight. Well, people are waiting for me in the general meeting, so I must go. Thank you,” PM Modi said in the video.
The remarks come as the BJP continues to intensify its campaign in West Bengal ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, with senior party leaders addressing several rallies.
While addressing a rally here, the Prime Minister announced that the BJP-led government would issue a ‘white paper’ to provide a comprehensive accounting of alleged corruption under the 15-year-old TMC regime.
Prime Minister Modi directly targeted the TMC leadership, alleging systematic looting involving ministers and local MLAs.
“The BJP will submit an official report to ensure legal accountability for the corruption involving TMC MLAs, ministers and unions. It will submit a complete report of 15 years to the government. Under the BJP government, strict action will be taken to stop every such crime,” PM Modi said.
In a bid to boost the crucial votes of women – a demographic that has traditionally supported Mamata Banerjee – the Prime Minister made a major financial pledge.
“Due to Bengal’s growing support for BJP, TMC is panicking and misleading people with lies. You can be sure that BJP will close its shop of corruption. I have specially come to assure all sisters and daughters of Bengal that BJP has made this announcement.” $3,000 per month for women,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister’s visit comes as West Bengal prepares to hold crucial polls on April 23-29, with the results scheduled for May 4. The upcoming elections come on the heels of the 2021 battle, where the TMC won 213 seats. However, the BJP’s growth from a minor player to 77 seats in the last session has set the stage for the current high-stakes standoff.
