Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday asserted that his party will neither bend to state rights nor federalism. The DMK chief said his government is committed to growth through inclusive governance that focuses on people first and welfare.

“Tamil Nadu will not bend. No concessions on state or federal rights. Yes to dignity and self-respect. No to imposition.” He said on X.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister surprised people traveling in the Metro when he took a short ride from Chennai Central to the AG-DMS station in the city and interacted with them briefly.
Sharing a video of the journey on social media with the title ‘DMK: The driving force for Chennai’s development’, Stalin described the journey as ‘full of love from the people and carrying memories of the metro project’.
“When I was Deputy Prime Minister, I went to Japan and sought financial assistance from JICA and took the lead in the project. So far several million people are traveling in the project which extends from Wimco Nagar to Chennai airport,” he added.
Meanwhile, Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal criticized the ruling DMK government over the law and order situation and asserted that people are angry with Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin and want to oust the DMK government in these elections.
“They don’t want a DMK government and everywhere people want to see a strong NDA family with complete friends working as one family and not like Congress and DMK fighting with each other,” he told reporters in Tirupur.
The NDA family will bring good law and order, corruption-free government, investments and employment opportunities for the youth of Tamil Nadu, Goyal said after kicking off campaigning for his party colleagues L Murugan contesting from Avanashi seat, S Thangaraj (Tiruppur South) and AIADMK candidate MSM Anand (Tiruppur North).
Goyal confirms the victory of the NDA alliance
During his visit to the state to participate in the election campaign, Goyal asserted that the AIADMK-led NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu will get two-thirds majority and win the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
“The way I see the anti-incumbency and hatred for the Stalin family and the way people are worried that someone like Udhayanidhi Stalin will become prime minister if the DMK alliance wins, the way they see the DMK-Congress party in Parliament by not allowing it to function, I think the DMK is on its way out and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will get a two-thirds majority and win the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu,” he said. He told reporters.
Goyal also challenged the DMK, asking party chief Stalin to publicly declare that his son Udhayanidhi will not become the chief minister of the state if he comes to power.
“The people of TN have decided that the MK Stalin government must go and I challenge Thiru MK Stalin to declare that Udhayanidhi will not become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The people have made up their minds and the DMK government will be defeated at the polls,” he said.
Goyal, who is also the BJP in-charge of Tamil Nadu, alleged corruption in land mafia, electricity board, transfers and appointments under the DMK government in the state.
Pointing out that there should be development in the country and people should invest in a city where there is corruption-free government, Goyal said: “Unfortunately, the Stalin family has spread corruption throughout the family. You have MK Stalin, Udayanidhi, son-in-law Sabarisan and (MP) Kanimozhi.”
“Due to this family rule, there is a lot of corruption and investors avoid investing in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
He mocked the DMK government saying that the menace of drugs and liquor in the state is increasing.
“We have to get rid of this DMK government if we want to save our children. Under MK Stalin’s government, Tamil Nadu has become a drug hub in the last five years,” he said.
He pointed out that the drug menace is increasing in places like Nanguneri, Sivaganjai and Manamadurai across Tamil Nadu affecting the youth and harming the future of the state.
“I have been told that there are many young people who are addicted to drugs. Our fight is against drug addiction. We will ensure that drugs are eliminated from Tamil Nadu,” he continued.
Referring to the three candidates contesting on behalf of the BJP and AIADMK under the NDA alliance, he said that three of the best candidates will give the best performance for the NDA to win the elections and bring back good governance and good law and order and the state will be run on the pattern of late AIADMK president J Jayalalithaa and under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
