Reacting to the incident, Gaurav Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Shimla, said the police team stopped Paynes’ car as it was equipped with an unauthorized horn, search lights and flag bar, which was in clear violation of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

He said that while the police were performing their duty according to the law, it was Baines who refused to cooperate. SSP Singh said he used abusive language when the police asked him to remove the horn, adding that they had issued an online report.
