Ann Coulter’s comment on the Indian caste system has sparked a new controversy.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill this week that bars Florida courts from applying foreign laws, including Sharia law. Conservative writer Ann Coulter’s comment on it sparked widespread controversy because she did not say anything about the law or the bill. I talked about the caste system in India.
“What about banning the Indian caste system? That’s even more inconsistent with America,” Ann Coulter wrote in response to a post that said Islamic law was incompatible with America.
“Today in Tampa, I signed HB 1471 into law to protect the constitutional rights of Floridians from the application of foreign and religious laws, including Sharia law. This legislation also establishes a framework to combat terrorist organizations and ensure greater accountability for our education system.
Millions for education and public safety, but not a dime for jihad!” declared Ron DeSantis. Social media users spoke about how Ann Coulter has once again channeled her anti-India hatred, as she has nothing to do with India. “The anti-India hate is definitely a coordinated process with powerful people at this point. Everyone is doing it at once,” one wrote. Some users told her that there was no workable Indian caste system, while others thanked her for reporting the issue.
In response to Coulter, Suhag Shukla, executive director of the American Hindu Foundation, wrote: “I keep telling you all… the academic far-left and the xenophobic far-right are exactly on the same page when it comes to targeting Hindus. The reasons are different, but the methods are identical.”
In 2024, Coulter tells Vivek Ramaswamy that she can never vote for him, because Ramaswamy is Indian. Ramaswamy was at that time a presidential candidate.
In the wake of the controversy surrounding this racist comment, Coulter said that he is not a racist. “Black people have been here longer than most white people. It has nothing to do with race. It has to do with being a citizen for at least three generations. I think that’s a good rule of thumb.”“There’s a reason the founders wanted the president to be a natural born president, and Ted Cruz is not,” Coulter said. “The president is different from any other position. I told him (Ramaswamy) that he could be a foreign minister, a Supreme Court justice, a governor. But, President, I think we have to wait for the third generation.”
